Welcome,
Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH), formerly known as Psuedotumor Cerebri is a rare condition where the pressure in the skull increases for no obvious reason. The symptoms mimic those of a brain tumor, but no tumor is present. IIH can lead to vision loss and blindness related to swelling of the optic nerve (papilledema). Symptoms may include headache behind the eyes, ringing in the ears in time with heartbeat, and brief episodes of blindness (blackouts). September is the awareness month for IIH and it’s represented by a blue and green ribbon. In September we wear blue and green!!!
NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!
About Us
About The IIH Champ Foundation
Supporting Research. Empowering Lives.
The IIH Champ Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing medical research and awareness for Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH).
Founded in 2023 by Tanya Ward following her personal diagnosis in 2017, the foundation was created out of a desire to uncover the causes of IIH and support the development of effective treatments.
Our mission is twofold:
To fund and support groundbreaking research that seeks to understand why IIH occurs
To empower and uplift those living with IIH, along with their families and support networks
The IIH Champ Foundation is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, governed by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors.
Together, we are working to bring hope, answers, and a brighter future to the IIH community.
